MKEimages.com Image of the Day - Aayyyy! ... How could our image of the day be anything else today but Henry Winkler a.k.a. Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli along with his statue on Milwaukee's Riverwalk. Despite the threat of rain the statue dedication ceremony went well today. Check out this sildeshow with images from the ceremony which includes Henry, a few members from the cast of "Happy Days" and some other notables. As the events progress today we will be updating the slideshow.

Lincoln Ave. - One of only 16 Basilicas in the US) in the background our Image of the Day was taken at the Old Southside Farmers Market in Kosciuszko Park in Lincoln Village on Milwaukee's South side yesterday. Open from mid-June to mid-October (Sundays, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm) the market offers a wide variety of produce, meats, crafts, street performers, and horse & carriage rides. We have added this image and a few others to our "Outdoor Urban Markets" Gallery.

Fonzie Statue Dedication

The MKEimages.com team of photographers will be in full force this Tuesday covering the Fonzie Statue Dedication along with the various other associated events. We will cover the actual statue dedication at Wells St. and the Riverwalk (10:00 am), the public event afterwards at Peck Pavilion by the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts (11:00 am), the Homecoming Parade (5:45 pm) from Wisconsin Ave. & Water St. to Miller Park, and then conclude with images of the pre-game ceremony (6:30 pm) before the Brewers-Astros game. Henry Winkler and various members of the "Happy Days" cast along with Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams of the "Happy Days" spin off "Laverne and Shirley" are scheduled to appear at the events.

In 2007 Cafe Hollander was voted "Milwaukee's Best New Bar" by the readers of OnMilwaukee.com. Other than a selection of Belgian ales and Bloody Mary's they also offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.

MKEimages.com Image of the Day - Despite fairly warm temperatures and a partly cloudy day the crowd was light today at the Washington Park swimming pool. Located at 1859 N. 40th St. Washington Park part of the Milwaukee Park system offers various activities such a picnic areas, boating, fishing, tennis, volleyball, baseball and the "Music Under The Stars" concert series at the bandshell located on the grounds.

Brewers Hill Neighborhood

A new gallery "Brewers Hill" has been added to the MKEimages.com Lifestyle Collection. Bounded by Holton St. on the East, Pleasant St. & the Milwaukee River on the South, Martin Luther King Dr. on the West, and North Ave. on the North the Brewers Hill (formerly "Uihlein Hill") neighborhood is a unique, small diverse community. Brewers Hill once was inhabited by a large number of both brewery owners, workers, & "tied houses" (a type of saloon that was tied to/sold a certain brand of beer).
